Your general dentist has referred you to The Practice SF because he or she felt that your condition requires treatment by a periodontal specialist.
The word, “periodontal,” means “around the tooth.” As periodontists, we specialize in conditions affecting your gums and your teeth. The focus is preserving your teeth, restoring your mouth to a healthier condition, or replacing any teeth that cannot be saved with dental implants.
